Cam's cycling challenge
Hi, I’m Cam! Most days, you’ll find me soaring across the skies, covering hundreds of kilometres to get critically ill Kiwis to the life-saving care they desperately need, but today I’m asking for your help.
As a Life Flight pilot, I’ve seen firsthand the incredible journeys our patients endure, and now I’m taking on a huge challenge myself—one that’s very close to my heart.
I’ll be tackling the ‘Tour of New Zealand’ cycling event—a gruelling 450km ride over 5 days, from Greymouth to the Crown Range, New Zealand’s highest road pass. It’s not just a race for me; it represents the distance I cover almost daily, flying parents, children, and grandparents to urgent care they can’t reach on their own.
450km is about the same distance for a Gisborne local to reach life-saving care to Auckland —flights I take often for patients whose lives hang in the balance. The only reason they make it to care in time is because of community donations. So for this race, I’m asking for your help. Every donation you make goes directly toward funding future life-saving flights.
If you’re able to give, even a little, please donate here and help save a life.
