Lennox's chance at childhood

Thanks to your support, little Lennox got to Starship Hospital in Auckland for life-saving surgery

Thanks to your support, little Lennox got to Starship Hospital in Auckland for life-saving surgery.

Shortly after he was born, the whole family was flown in our Air Ambulance Plane to get Lennox safely to the specialty care he needed.

Lennox was born with a heart condition and has had several major surgeries. Fortunately, his 5th surgery last March has made a major difference.

Mum Nicky explains, “Essentially now Lennox has half a heart doing the work of a full heart. He no longer gets short of breath walking to and from the letterbox. It’s awesome to stand back and just watch him run 'cause he could never run before. It’s just those simple little things that you kind of do a little fist pump when he’s not looking.”

Because you made it possible for him to get to the care he needed, Lennox is now a happy five-year-old who is “full of beans.” He is at school and loving life.

“He’s been given a second, third, fourth and fifth chance at life. We want him to be able to live it.”

Nicky sends her sincere thanks to you for supporting Life Flight.

Life Flight is one of those organisations that you don’t appreciate until you need it.

“Life Flight is one of those organisations that you don’t appreciate until you need it. It could be someone’s parent, child, anybody who needs that service, and if they’re not there then it just means many more lives are going to be lost. If you can, please donate before you need them."

We were thrilled to see Lennox at our Open Day earlier this year. He met Pilot Ian who had flown him.

Thank you for your life-saving gifts that allow us to keep helping people like little Lennox.
