Wellington-based Westpac Rescue Helicopter transports crash victim from Waikanae

The Wellington-based Westpac Rescue Helicopter transported a 23 year old man to hospital today as the result of a motor vehicle accident in Waikanae.

The helicopter, with a Wellington Free Ambulance paramedic onboard was called to the accident on SH1 just after midday today, and was directed to land at a nearby park to uplift the patient.

The patient was transported to Wellington Hospital Emergency Department by helicopter suffering from suspected abdominal injuries. No further information on his condition is available at the time of this release.
