Wellington Westpac Rescue Helicopter transports a Injured Mountain Biker from Paraparaumu

The Wellington based Westpac Rescue Helicopter was called to today 29th Aug 09 at 1230pm to a 35yr old female from Paraparaumu who had fallen off her mountain bike while riding in the QE 2 park just south of Paraparaumu and had a possible fractured left ankle.

The Westpac Rescue Helicopter responded with two Wellington Free Paramedics onboard.

On arrival at the scene the patient had been treated by two Wellington Free Paramedics already on scene.

The helicopter was able to land 100m from the patient who was then transported to Wellington Hospital Emergency department where she is being treated for the possible fractured ankle
