Wellington Westpac Rescue Helicopter call to Waikanae to a Male who fell off a Truck

The Wellington based Westpac Rescue Helicopter was call this afternoon the 2 Feb 09 at approx 3:45pm to a 40yr old male from Levin who had fallen off the top of a truck.

The patient had been working on top of the truck parked on the side of the road when he fell approx 5m to the ground and landed on his feet.

On arrival of the Helicopter the Wellington Free Paramedics had immobilized the patients leg and neck and was on a spin board.

The Helicopter was able to land on State Highway One a short distance from the location.

The Patient was transported to Wellington Hospital Emergency Department with Two Wellington Free Paramedics onboard. The Patient in in the Emergency Department where he is being treated for lower leg injuries.
