Wellington based Westpac Rescue Helicopter transports injured lady from Cheery Bay, Marlborough Sounds

The Wellington Based Westpac Rescue Helicopter was call today Jan 6th at approximately 5.45pm to Cherry Bay in the Marlborough Sounds.
The Helicopter, with a Wellington Free Ambulance Helicopter Paramedic on board, responded to Cherry Bay to attend to a 65 year old lady who had fallen and suffered a head injury.
On arrival the helicopter was able to land at the property and the patient was assessed by the paramedic. The patient had fallen approximately 2 meters backwards into a small stream, sustaining a laceration to the back of her head. Due to the nature of the injury the patient was transported to the Wellington Hospital Emergency Department, where she is being further assessed and treated for her injury.
