Wellington Based Westpac Rescue Helicopter transports a Paraparaumu man injured after a car fell on him

The Wellington Based Westpac Rescue Helicopter was called to Paraparaumu this evening at 6:00pm 16th Dec 08 to a 20yr old male from Paraparaumu who had a car pinned on his chest.

The man had been working on a car which was on jacks when the car fall on his chest and pining him under it. The Fire Service and Wellington Free Staff were able to free him and transported him to Paraparaumu Airport. The Westpac Rescue Helicopter with a Wellington Free Paramedic onboard landed at Paraparaumu Airport where the ambulance with the patient was waiting. The patient was then loaded onto the Helicopter stretcher and was transported back to Wellington.

The patient was flown back to the Wellington Hospital Emergency Department where he is being treated for internal and possible back injuries.
