Wellington Based Westpac Rescue Helicopter called to an Injured Motorist on the Hayward's Hill Rd
Fri 02/10/2009 00:28The Westpac Rescue Helicopter was called this evening the 1st Oct 09 at 9:45pm to a motor vehicle accident on the Hayward's Hill Rd in Upper Hutt Wellington.
A 57yr old male from Porirua was driving home when he lost control of the vehicle. The vehicle rolled three times and came to rest on the side of the road trapping the driver upside down.
The driver was trapped for around 60mins while the Wellington Free and Fire Service Staff worked to free him from the vehicle.
The Helicopter flew to the scene with two Wellington Free Paramedics onboard.
The driver was flown to the Wellington Hospital Emergency Department where he is being treated for possible internal and arm injuries .
