Wellington Based Westpac Rescue Helicopter called to a person with Chest pain in Wharauni South of Ward
Wed 18/11/2009 23:15The Westpac Rescue Helicopter was called today 18th Nov 09 at 7:00pm to person with chest pain in Wharauni which is South of Ward in the South Island.
A 70yr old male from Blenheim was discovered in his car with chest pain by a train driver which had stopped at Wharauni. The train driver had called the emergency services. The local Fire Brigade from Ward had responded to Wharauni.
The Helicopter responded with a Wellington Free Ambulance Paramedic.
On arrival the Helicopter was able to land on a dirt road next to the railway tracks.
Once assessed the patient was then flown to the Wellington Hospital Emergency Department in where he is being treated for his chest pain.
