The Life Flight Trust transports 2 tourists from car accident

At 1.30pm this afternoon the Life Flight Trust responded to a motor vehicle accident on SH1 approximately 20km north of Kekerengu in the South Island. Life Flight responded with a Wellington Free Paramedic on board the Westpac Rescue Helicopter.
Two occupants of one car were lucky to escape with moderate to minor injuries after their vehicle left the road and rolled end over end twice. It is believed that the car was travelling at approximately 100kph when it left the road.
Both occupants, tourists who have been travelling in New Zealand for approximately 2 months, were taken to Wellington Hospital Emergency Department for further assessment and treatment.
The Life Flight Trust is a charity providing air rescue and air ambulance services. It operates the Wellington based Westpac Rescue Helicopter and a national air ambulance service.
