His Excellency Lieutenant General The Right Honourable Sir Jerry Mateparae GNZM, QSO Governor-General of New Zealand is Life Flight’s patron.
His Excellency continues a fine tradition of the Governor-General acting as the Life Flight patron, which began in 1987 when Sir Paul Reeves offered Life Flight his support after hearing about Peter Button’s tragic death shortly after he had bestowed him with the honour of the Queens Medal for Gallantry.
