We are continually wowed by our wonderful community fundraisers and their passion for helping others. We know how much hard work goes into fundraising events and would like to give our sincere thanks to the organisers of events below.
4WD Off-Road Safari
Thanks to Peter Sinke and all his helpers at Plimmerton Rotary Club and the Wellington Cross Country Vehicle Club for producing a great day contributing $2,000 each to Life Flight and Wellington Free Ambulance.
BMW Owners Register
Their 30th Anniversary charity ride from Cape Reinga to Bluff raised funds for rescue helicopters nationwide. Life Flight received $2,668.Chopper Appeal 2011: Staff Fundraising
Westpac staff were totally committed to fundraising for the 2011 Chopper Appeal - from "cream-pie your manager", to bake sales, dying their hair red, luxury raffles, make-up lessons, quiz nights and drag queen competitions: you name it, they did it. Seeing so many people putting in a huge effort to raise money for Life Flight's Wellington-based Westpac Rescue Helicopter was inspiring. Melanie Maddock and Chloe Jenssen pulled-off a fantastic day of top-quality craft, gourmet food and entertainment. This combined with a stunning Pauatahanui day ensured thousands of happy punters plus nearly $3,000 for Life Flight from parking donations and stallholder contributions. Thanks ladies!Fronde Systems

The 13th year of this event saw 15 gardeners open their gates to the public for viewing. Thanks to all gardeners, the Silverstream Lions Club, Mangaroa School, Hirepool, Oderings and Upper Hutt City Council. $2,500 was raised for Life Flight.Marlborough Ulysses Club Rescue Ride
Two hundred riders journeyed from Havelock to Witherlea Racecourse. $1,436 was raised for Life Flight.Masonic Charitable Bowling Tournament
Local Freemasons have conducted annual charity bowling days for 40 years. This year $1,875 was raised and The Freemasons Charity subsidised the additional $8,125 required to purchase two helicopter crew helmets to help improve safety and streamline communications for the Life Flight team. Freemasons have raised a total of $31,450 to help Life Flight save lives.Open Day 2011
Thousands flocked to Life Flight's annual Open Day in May, raising nearly $13,000. For the first time in four years we had a fine day! $57,000 was raised during street appeals in Kapiti, the Hutt Valley, Wellington, Wairarapa and Blenheim. Highlights include a bus-driver stopping mid-route in Wellington to hand $5 to a collector, and meeting many people who had been flown by the Westpac Rescue Helicopter. Thank you to each and every one of our volunteers, the wonderful Lions, Rotary, and Probus Clubs and corporate groups who helped. Special thanks to Mary Beesley and Lindsay Moir of Blenheim Lions, and David Howden of The Rotary Club of Masterton South for their regional coordination, and of course the many Westpac staff who volunteered and coordinated. Life Flight and the Youth Training Corps were the lucky recipients of Charlotte Gendall's hard work in organising a Top Gun Movie night in honour of its 25th release anniversary. $5,000 was raised. Thanks to the Embassy Theatre, Spy Valley Wines, Tim Brown, Ben Sigmund, Simon Woolf.
