Our crew’s specialist training allows them to assist with mission coordination and safety, assist the medical teams with patient care, and look after relatives/support people travelling with patients. Our helicopter crew also operates the winch during rescue missions.

Crewperson profile: Dave Greenberg

Dave was born in New York and began life in the emergency services as a junior fireman aged 13. In 1990 he arrived in New Zealand on an information technology contract and began working as a volunteer on Life Flight’s Westpac Rescue Helicopter. This turned into a full-time crew position in 1995.

Dave is an active crewmember on the Westpac Rescue Helicopter and is also Life Flight’s Wellington Operations Manager.
