New Zealand Post commences sponsorship of the fixed-wing service and the Cheyenne Mark II air ambulance (POD) is fully dedicated to emergency work. The sponsorship continues for some four years.
Life Flight develops its own fixed-wing air ambulance stretcher bridge and loading system.
